To logon to a computer on the UHS Cinco Ranch campus, you will need to have a computer account and know 3 things:
1) Your user name
2) Your password
3) Your account domain
Your Computer Account
Your UHD computer account was created when you registered for your classes. You do not need to apply for it.
Your User Name
If you do not know your user name, go to www.uhd.edu and click on the “student e-services” button.
When you click on this link, the “student e-services” page will appear. Click on the “My Personal Data” bubble. Scroll to the bottom of this page to the login fields. Enter your student ID number and your PIN. Your initial PIN is set to your birth date in the format mmddyyyy. Click on the submit button.
The “My Personal Data” screen will open. Scroll down to the computer accounts section located at the bottom of the screen. Your username for all computer accounts is shown in the user name field.

Your Password
Your initial password is the same as your e-services PIN. You may reset your password in any of the systems that you log in to, and the password will be the same for all other systems. Please note that if you reset your PIN or password and have difficulty logging in, try using just the first six characters of your new PIN/password. For security reasons, it is suggested that you use a combination of upper case letters, lower case letters, and numbers for your new password. Your password is good for 120 days. You will be prompted to change it prior to that date. If you don't change it when prompted, it will expire and you will have to have the password reset. Information on resetting passwords is listed below.
Your Account Domain
Your account domain is ACADEMIC.
How to Log On to a UHS Cinco Ranch Computer
Find the Control (Ctrl), Alternate (Alt), and Delete buttons on the keyboard. Press down on all 3 at the same time. When you press on all 3 at the same time, an information screen will appear. Please read the screen and then press the “OK” button. After you press the “OK” button, a logon screen will appear.
The first box in the logon screen will be labeled “User name”. Type in your user name in the box.
The second box in the logon screen will be labeled “Password”. Type in your initial password in the box. Because it is confidential, you will not see the letters or number in the box but a “•” for each character. Type your password carefully and make sure you do not have the “Caps Lock” key on.
The third box in the logon screen will be labeled “Log on to”. An arrow will be in the right of the box. Click on the arrow and a list of domains will appear. Find the domain that says “ACADEMIC” and click on it so that it appears in the “Log on to” box.
When you have entered the correct user name, password, and domain, press the “OK” button (or press “Enter” on the keyboard). If the information you entered is correct, the computer will prompt you to change your password. Once you have changed it, the computer will acknowledge your new password and log you on so that you can use it.
If you get an error message, check to make sure your user name is correct, retype your initial password (to make sure it is correct), and make sure that the domain is set to “ACADEMIC”. Then press the “OK” button or press the “Enter” key again. If you get an error message again, go to the Technician Workstation in the computer lab and ask them to assist you.
Problems with Logging On to a UHS Cinco Ranch Computer
If you have a problem logging on to a computer, contact the staff at the Technician Workstation in the computer lab.
If they cannot solve your problem, you will need to contact UHD Student Technology Services. Since your account is created and managed at UHD, there is a limit to what the local technical staff can do if they cannot solve the logon problem.

Resetting Your Password
From time to time, a student may forget his or her password. If this happens to you, you will have to reset your password.
- You can reset your password by resetting your PIN in student e-Services.
- Go to www.uhd.edu.
- Click on the student e-Services button.
- Click on the "My Personal Data" bubble.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Forgotten your PIN?" link.
- Click on "Reset PIN" link.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, click in the bubble next to "I agree to the terms and conditions of this agreement," then click on "Continue."
- Enter your information on the page and click "Submit."
Your PIN will be reset to your birth date (mmddyyyy).
If you cannot reset your PIN online, or if you have forgotten your PIN reset challenge question, you will need to have the PIN reset manually. Use one of these methods to have this done.

- Go downtown to the Registrar's Office in One Main on the 3rd floor to request that your PIN be reset.
Your account keeps a history file and you will not be allowed to use your 24 previous passwords. Account Lockout
For security reasons, your account will be locked out if an incorrect user name or password is attempted 10 times. The lockout period is 10 minutes. Therefore, it is important that you enter your username and password correctly. If you try to logon twice and get an error message, contact the staff at the Technician Workstation in the computer lab to assist you.
Your Print Allowance
Your print allowance is $15.00 per semester or summer session. Each page sent to the black and white printer costs 5 cents. Each page sent to the color printer costs 10 cents.
